Collaborative Separations: A Process Built on Respect, Teamwork & Practical Solutions

What is a Collaborative Separation?

Collaborative separation helps couples separate in a calm and fair way. Instead of arguing in mediation or court, or letting lawyers handle everything, you and your former partner work together with the support of a professional team. This team includes lawyers, financial experts, and a Collaborative Coach who will guide you through the process.

Everyone on the team is trained to focus on peaceful resolution and avoiding litigation, ensuring that your family’s needs are prioritised. Together, you'll reach fair agreements on important matters like parenting, finances, and property – without the conflict and uncertainty of the traditional legal system.

Why Choose Collaborative Separation?

  • A Better Way to Plan for the Future: Unlike mediation, which often just focuses on reaching a quick agreement, collaborative separation goes deeper. Our team is dedicated to creating solutions that support the long-term well-being of your two-home family.
  • Faster Than Court and Legal Battles: Going through the Family Court system can take years. With structured meetings and a commitment to cooperation, collaborative separation often resolves matters in just a few months, allowing you to move forward sooner.
  • Less Stress: With a shared agreement not to go to court, you'll feel much less stressed and can focus on creating a peaceful solution that works for both of you.
  • Private and Respectful: Collaborative separation keeps personal matters confidential and ensures a process that protects the dignity of all involved.
  • Protects Relationships: Whether or not you have kids, the collaborative process helps you keep a respectful relationship with your former partner by reducing conflict and keeping communication constructive.

Building Your Customised Collaborative Team

As a certified Collaborative Coach, I have established relationships with lawyers, accountants and financial advisors across Australia. I can assist you in bringing together the best team to guide your family through your parenting or financial separation.

In your Intake Assessment, we'll determine the specific professionals you need - whether that's lawyers to handle the legal aspects, or a financial neutral to provide expert guidance on assets and debts. I'll ensure every member of your team is well-suited to your unique circumstances and committed to a respectful, cooperative process. This sets the foundation for a smooth, efficient collaboration.
